CAMP FACILITIES:
Camp Butwin has a Heated pool:
Our large-capacity pool features Aqua Walls, slides and splash zones! A great place to cool off, learn swim skills and hang out with friends.

Camp Butwin has a 10,000-square-foot lodge facility: When the weather is not cooperating, our campers are safe and comfortable in our air-conditioned lodge.

Camp Butwin has horseback riding:
One of the only camp horseback riding programs in the Twin Cities! Campers increase confidence, self-esteem and love for nature with every ride.

Lake O’Brien:
Swim, canoe, kayak and paddleboat in the lake – there’s no better way to enjoy the great outdoors!

Covered Villages:
Each camp group has a home base – a covered shelter that’s the place for lunch, group activities and community-building.

Challenge and ropes course:
Feel like the king or queen of the mountain when you climb our 45-foot tower, glide along our 100-foot zip line or explore our low level challenge course.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: At Camp Butwin, children play in a safe, stimulating setting and use a heated outdoor swimming pool, a lake with a boating area and a sandy beach, a ropes course and climbing tower, horses and riding trails, softball and soccer fields, an archery range, and areas for crafts, nature, and theater.

Campers are entering 1st-8th grades. As children get older, we introduce extended nights, over-nights and week-long off-site trips. We have an exciting Counselor-In-Training (CIT) program for young leaders who want to learn valuable leadership skills, entering 9th-10th grades. We also offer specialty camps for theater, sports and horses for 3rd-6th graders.

Along with traditional Butwin where campers explore all areas of camp, this year we are offering specialty camps for those campers who want to spend more time in specific areas of camp.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Teens: make the most of your summer months as a Counselor in Training (CIT) at Camp Butwin! If you’re entering 9th or 10th grade, then this program is for YOU! Gain valuable leadership and employment skills, earn money and have a lot of fun all summer long.

As a CIT, you’ll be a role model for younger campers, develop your skills as a counselor, bond with other teens and make new friends. CITs are mentored by senior Camp Butwin staff and have field trips, evening activities and overnights throughout the summer.

CITs learn:
• How to plan and lead camp activities
• The basics of child development
• Basic safety and First Aid
• Conflict resolution
• Positive techniques to deal with behavior and disciplinary issues

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Financial assistance is available for families who find the full cost of membership and/or camp difficult to manage. To arrange for a confidential interview, please check the fee adjustment box on your online registration form and you will be contacted for an appointment. All applicants must provide proof of income (2013 taxes, W-2 forms) at the time of the appointment to be considered for camp scholarships. Request for fee adjustments are due by April 15 and are available for JCC members only.

CAMP FACILITIES: Northern Tier has rustic cabins for the first and last night of a group's stay. The rest of the time is spent in the wilderness of North America's Canoe Country.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
The canoe trip leader is the main program person working with the youth and adults in the crew. He/she serves as a Scouting role model for trail crews. Is a specialist and resource person to the trail crew on all aspects of the canoe trip. This includes, but is not limited to: packing and preparation for trip, food handling, navigation, safety, history, fishing, and ecology. *Note: You must be able to pass a swim test.

Camp staff positions include Outfitting, Trading Post, Dining Hall, Maintenance, and Living History.

CAMP FACILITIES: A university dormitory on a beautiful and safe campus. Sounds of Hope has no affiliation with the University.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Songs of Hope is an international performing arts experience with participants coming from 12-14 countries. The first three weeks are spent in rehearsals as everyone learns music and dance moves from all the represented countries and cultures. Evenings are spent in cultural learning and sharing -- often through games. The final three weeks are spent performing. All participants have 2-3 roommates from different countries. CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Lincoln and Camp Lake Hubert are separated by about 1.5 miles of the water of Lake Hubert, but are just about equal in facilities at each camp. Both camps have two-story, log-style cabins for about 18-21 campers with indoor bathrooms and hot water. Dining halls are large communal buildings centrally located on the camp. Camp Lincoln offers an extremely large athletic field for various events and sporting activities/games, as well as a sand volleyball court, multiple tetherball courts, two basketball courts, 4 laykold tennis courts, and an indoor building for rainy-day activities and skit nights. Camp Lake Hubert offers two smaller athletic fields, two basketball courts, a sand volleyball pit, tetherball courts, four tennis courts, and a smaller, private lake for fishing, kayaking, and canoeing. As both camps are located right on the shores of Lake Hubert, they both offer fully-equipped waterfronts for swimming, sailing, windsurfing, fishing, water games, etc.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Lincoln and Camp Lake Hubert have a 100-year plus history of creating fun and adventure in Minnesota’s lake country. As brother-sister camps, they are located across the lake from each other, with separate facilities and activities, but under the same ownership and long-standing mission and purpose. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: The Camp Lincoln and Camp Lake Hubert Leadership Training (LT) Program is a two-year leadership development program open to young men and women currently in 10th and 11th grade. Those that are highly motivated, willing to work hard and have a strong desire to develop skills that can be used in camp as well as in their home communities should apply to this program. The LT Experience is divided into Level 1 and Level 2 with each level having its own set of requirements.

At the program’s core is the goal of teaching life skills that translate into preparing young men and women for life outside of camp, i.e., jobs, extracurricular activities, community service work, entrance into college, etc.).

CAMP FACILITIES: Campers sleep in tents while on their 5-6 day canoe trips. Base Camp accommodations include 7 rustic camper cabins with bunks, our main Lodge where meals are served, the Chart House, or program building; a sauna, a large campfire area, and the Wilderness Building for trip food and equipment. Walking paths connect the facilities with an open yard for games and gatherings near the Lodge. All areas provide beautiful views of Lake of the Woods.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: "Unconditional acceptance" has been the hallmark of Laketrails since 1952. We believe every teen should be accepted for who they are, and we seek to develop empowered youth by teaching a healthy appreciation of nature, community living, and the gift of themselves. Teens gain a true sense of confidence and competence while paddling their way into the Canadian wilderness.

Nearly all activities at Laketrails involve the water! Swimming, beach games, fishing, Fun-yaks, canoeing, and campfires are all popular pastimes. A 5-6 day canoe trip through the island wilderness of Ontario is at the heart of our 9-day program.

Laketrails staff is certified in Wilderness First Aid and CPR, and well-trained in safety protocols, wilderness travel, and communication. To best serve our campers, a 1:5 ratio is maintained between staff and campers. We are proudly accredited by the American Camp Association. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Developing leadership skills is an inherent by-product of the Laketrails program. Youth are actively involved in planning their canoe trips, and by the end of their trail experience have developed an important sense of leadership and competence by contributing to the success of their group. Returning campers are eligible to apply for our Camper-Worker program which is a leadership position for campers.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: At Laketrails we believe no one should be deprived of the opportunity to experience a wilderness adventure because of a lack of finances. SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
Laketrails is currently hiring individuals who love working with teens in the outdoors for our "Guide" positions.  Job responsibilities include guiding wilderness canoe trips, supervision of campers in Base Camp and on trail, and assisting with general maintenance in Base Camp.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Swift Nature Camp is an overnight nature camp for boys and girls ages 6-15. Our focus is to blend traditional summer camp activities while increasing a child's appreciation for nature, science and the environment.

Our special Discovery Camp is a nurturing program for first-time overnight campers, offering additional staff to provide support and encouragement to overcome homesickness and build confidence. The program welcomes no more than 50 first-time campers, and the special attention that this intimate group receives is the reason that more than 92% of them wish to return.

Swift Nature Camp offers traditional summer camp activities along with an environmental focus. Campers enjoy an active Nature Center, Pet Zoo, and Department of Natural Resources sponsored programs, plus recreational activities that include canoe and backpack trips, horseback riding, swimming, arts & crafts, team courses, archery, sailing, water skiing, tubing and sports.

In addition to these traditional activities, Swift Nature Camp is so much more. We are a child-centered program located away from technology, celebrity culture and academic pressures. CAMP FACILITIES: We have rustic cabins which house our campers in bunk beds. We promote people being outdoors and enjoying our surroundings. We have an outdoor basketball court, soccer field, and archery range. In addition we also swim, canoe, sail and water ski on our lake which is next to the Boundary Water Canoe Area Wilderness.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Voyageur is a small private camp started in 1951 by Charles P. Erdmann. Since 1984 his son John and daughter Deb have run the camp program. Steeped in tradition, CV offers a full in camp program of land and water sports plus wilderness trips. The emphasis is on participation of all activities. One well trained staff per four campers. All staff, in order to lead wilderness trips, has CPR, Wilderness First Aid and Lifeguard Training in addition to our two week staff training.
