BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Camp Voyageur offers and in camp and wilderness trip program in Northeastern MN. Campers experience in camp program of land and water sports plus wilderness trips canoeing, hiking and/or sea kayaking.
CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Travel, Sailing, Adventure, Wilderness/Nature, Waterfront/Aquatics, Music/Band, Soccer, Swimming, Basketball, Team Sports, and more. Since We Lead Wilderness Trips Canoeing, Hiking & Sea Kayaking We Train & Prepare All Campers For Those Activities. We Begin By Basic Instruction & Teach While On Trips...therefore Our Approach Is Experiential.
In Addition We Also Do Archery Instruction & Have A Progressive Program.
We Also Offer Sailing Instruction & A Program That Is Progressive.
CAMP LOCATION: We are located in Northeastern Minnesota on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. We take advantage of our location and lead wilderness canoe trips.
CAMP FACILITIES: We have rustic cabins which house our campers in bunk beds. We promote people being outdoors and enjoying our surroundings. We have an outdoor basketball court, soccer field, and archery range. In addition we also swim, canoe, sail and water ski on our lake which is next to the Boundary Water Canoe Area Wilderness.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Voyageur is a small private camp started in 1951 by Charles P. Erdmann. Since 1984 his son John and daughter Deb have run the camp program. Steeped in tradition, CV offers a full in camp program of land and water sports plus wilderness trips. The emphasis is on participation of all activities. One well trained staff per four campers. All staff, in order to lead wilderness trips, has CPR, Wilderness First Aid and Lifeguard Training in addition to our two week staff training.
FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): We offer canoe outfitting and guided trips June 1-August 31.
