BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Runoia is a Native American name for "harmony". Camp Runoia is an Accredited American Camp Association camp for girls located in Central Maine. Camp Runoia is about learning to live with other people, sharing ideas and working out differences while having fun. Camp Runoia values diversity and develops a community of individuals who learn acceptance and celebration of people from different cultures, races, sexual orientations, ages and social-economic backgrounds. Our motto is "building lifelong skills", but our mission is to build lifelong confidence, friendships, and memories.

Sailing, Adventure, Wilderness/Nature, Waterfront/Aquatics, Horses/Equestrian, Video/Filmmaking/Photography, Fine Arts/Crafts, Dance, Theater, Soccer, Tennis, Swimming, Volleyball, Weightloss, Basketball, Team Sports, and more. Target Sports & Wilderness Trips, Too.

Less than 3 hours out of Boston an hour north of Portland Runoia's 120 acres of woods and fields, located on nearly a mile of shore-line, is on the largest Belgrade Lake, Great Pond.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Certainly, we have all the amazing things you would expect in an excellent summer camp – a 40 foot climbing tower, onsite horseback riding, 8000 acres of beautiful lake to play and learn on, private shoreline, amazing counselors and remarkable food. And yet, there is something more at Camp Runoia. Something real and lasting. Something life changing. Something unique. Something you are a part of – forever!
Get outdoors. Create your own schedule and have an adventure!
Climb and cross the multi-vine line. Become a tennis player – paddle a kayak or swim to the diving dock. Build a campfire! Make a basket. Sail! Try twenty other things this summer.

Camp Runoia is an authentic, down to earth, caring camp. 130 campers with 75 adults helping to make the experience at camp genuine and safe. Most girls stay for one session and some come for the whole summer.
Runoia is owned by Pam Cobb Heuberger and is Co-Directed by Pam and Alex Jackson. 2019 will be Runoia’s 113th year of operation.
CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: CIT program for 16 year olds - tuition charged Junior Counselor program 17 and 18 - stipend received.
CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Camper-ships available for partial tuition - applications due in November for the next summer.
YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Rental available for off season use.
