CAMP FACILITIES: Parents trust us with their sons for the summer, and we take that seriously. Camp Chikopi's facilities are built around one idea: giving boys everything they need and nothing they don't. Campers stay in classic wood cabins grouped by age, each overseen by two or three experienced counsellors. Home-cooked meals are served family-style in our historic MainHouse, a Chikopi tradition boys look forward to every single day. Washrooms are modern with fresh running water and flushing toilets. Every summer, our facilities, water, and services are independently inspected by government health officials and meet or exceed all required standards. Comfortable, safe, and built for adventure.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Welcome to Camp Chikopi
Since 1920, Camp Chikopi has been one of Ontario's most trusted overnight sports camps for boys. For over 100 years we have been building sportsmanship, character, leadership, friendship, and self-confidence through sport, the outdoors, and time spent away from screens. Voted one of Canada's 7 Best Summer Camps for boys, Chikopi is a place families return to generation after generation, we welcome third and fourth generation campers every summer.
We are a small, family-oriented, 100% tech-free camp for boys aged 7 to 17. Every summer we welcome campers from across Canada, multiple U.S. states, and over a dozen countries around the world. Being a small camp means everyone knows your name within days of arriving.
The Program
Our program is built around sport and the outdoors. A mix of assigned and camper-chosen activities ensures every boy gets a well-rounded experience. Specialized instruction at no extra charge is offered in swimming, soccer, tennis, and sailing. Small class sizes mean genuine one-on-one coaching. Weekly competitive events keep energy high all summer long, from triathlon and swimming races to kayaking and running competitions.
Beyond organized sport, Chikopi is rich with time-honoured camp traditions: capture the flag, speedball, timed baseball, rockerball, scavenger hunts, survival challenges, and much more. There is never a dull moment, and there is never a screen in sight.
Life at Camp
Boys live in classic 10 to 12 person wood cabins, grouped by age. Cabin life is where some of the most important growth happens: boys learn to communicate, respect boundaries, take responsibility, and look out for one another. Counsellors live in the cabins alongside the boys. Meals are served family-style in our historic MainHouse, helping boys master the simple but valuable art of conversation and community.
Chikopi is non-denominational. Each week, cabins take turns reflecting on and sharing their understanding of the Golden Rule, a quiet but meaningful tradition that has been part of camp life for generations.
Our Staff
Chikopi counsellors are hand-picked by the Directors for their leadership qualities and their ability to be genuine role models. Almost every counsellor was once a Chikopi camper themselves, which means our traditions, values, and culture are passed down authentically year after year. All counsellors undergo thorough background checks and participate in weeks of training before campers arrive. Every counsellor is First Aid certified and the majority hold Lifeguard certification.
Accreditation and Safety
Camp Chikopi has been accredited by the Ontario Camps Association since 1965 and is monitored and inspected by all applicable government agencies every summer. Registration is ongoing, sibling discounts are available, and cabin requests can often be accommodated.
Chikopi is where boys put down their phones, pick up a paddle, and discover what they are made of. We have been doing this for over 100 years. We are very good at it.
